Late art-nouveau binding by Bayntun-Riviere in ¾ red morocco over pink cloth, with 5 raised bands, gilt titles in compartments and floral vine designs finely tooled in gold to the spine.Striking marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Prelims and terminal blanks foxed, light, scattered foxing throughout. Small tide marks to foot of spine and top edge of lower board. Lower board lightly marked.
A Very Good copy.

Illustrated by Edmund J. Sullivan, with original age toned tissue guards to colour plates.

This edition published and bound at the very end of the Belle Epoque is an example of luxury and decadence that would disappear with the onset of the first World War.
