10 full colour chromolithographic plates, numerous b/w plates, diagrams and illustrations throughout.

Previous ownership inscriptions, bookplates and pencil notation to endpapers. Scattered foxing, boards with some rubbing, corners bumped, t.p. of vol 2 partially loose, a spot of soiling at p23 vol 2 not encroaching to the text, pp65/6 v2 with a 2cm closed tear of the lower edge near the gutter. Bindings slightly shaken. A very good minus set. Not common in South Africa.
