Blue cloth boards with gilt titles and publisher’s device to spine. Very Good, edges foxed, prelims and endmatter lightly foxed. Previous owner’s ink scrawl to front paste down. 2cm tear in cloth at the head of the lower hinge. Tight and neat, in a Very Good, unclipped dust jacket, with two closed tears at the foot of the front flap and rear panel respectively.
One of the 20th century’s most important works of political philosophy, Rawls makes the argument for reconciling the persistent tension between liberty and equality by conceiving of justice as fairness.
