Title: Stone-Shaped Plants
Publisher: The Specialty Press of South Africa

8pp + 2 coloured plates, 4 b/w photographs.

Staple bound, red card wrappers with black titles to top wrap, wrapper a little scuffed, but internally very good indeed.

Pamphlet reprint from the Journal of the South African Biological Society, Vol VI, 1929 in which Marloth discusses 4 plants in the family Aizoaceae that mimic the stony habitats that they grow in, musing that there must be yet undiscovered reasons, beyond mere natural selection on the basis of ‘protective mimicry’ that these plants take the form that they do.
